About the event

Welcome to our post-natal peer group dedicated to intergenerational healing. This inclusive space is specifically designed for parents (age 18+) who are expecting or have recently had a baby and have grown up with the stress and stigma associated with a parent's substance use. We understand the unique challenges and emotions that can arise from these experiences, and through shared understanding and support, we aim to create an environment that fosters healing and growth.

This peer group is led by individuals who have personal experience with parental substance use, ensuring a safe and empathetic environment where participants can connect with others who can relate to their journey.

Who it's for:

This post-natal peer group is open to parents (age 18+) who are expecting or have recently had a baby and have grown up with the stress and stigma associated with a parent's substance use. Whether you are currently navigating the challenges of parenting or seeking support in addressing the intergenerational impact of substance use, this group offers a compassionate community where you can connect with others who share similar experiences.

Join us, share your story or just listen in a non-judgmental environment. Together, we can embark on a journey of intergenerational healing and create a positive environment for ourselves and our children.

In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, we honour and acknowledge Moh’kinsstis, and the traditional Treaty 7 territory and oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. We acknowledge all Nations – Indigenous and non – who live, work and play on this land, and who honour and celebrate this territory. Finally, we remain committed to continue to learn about the truth regarding Colonialism and residential schools in Canada, and will actively work towards reconciliation while advocating for our government to do so as well.
